The Indian mobile handset manufacturer has appointed Shubhodip Pal as chief marketing officer.

In his new role, Pal will lead all marketing efforts of Micromax globally. He has 16 years of industry experience and has worked in the consumer space, specialising in strategising and implementing new and innovative campaigns.

Prior to joining Micromax, Pal was heading BLYK India, a mobile messaging company as country manager and director. He has also worked with companies like Samsung, ABN AMRO, HP.

Commenting on his appointment, Pal, says, ?It is quite exciting to be at Micromax at a time when the company is experiencing such an amazing period of growth and is gearing up to move to the next phase. Listening to customers has always been important and giving due importance to the growing digitalisation, we intend to take the brand to newer heights with the right mix of products for our consumers coupled with right media mix to reach out to them, with relevant target group centric associations and by building long term properties along the way.?
