Meta is reportedly in advanced discussions to partner with Sify Technologies for a 500-megawatt (MW) data centre in Visakhapatnam. Sify is expected to invest about Rs 152.66 billion to build the hyperscale facility in Paradesipalem village, around 25 kilometres (km) from the city along the Kolkata–Srikakulam highway. Once completed, the entire capacity is planned to be leased to Meta.
Alongside the data centre, Meta will also land its upcoming subsea cable system, Waterworth, at Sify’s landing station in the region.
