The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) is reportedly planning to showcase up to 100 shortlisted homegrown artificial intelligence (AI) applications with global relevance at the IndiaAI Impact Summit scheduled for February 2026. Currently under evaluation, these government-supported AI solutions are expected to be presented to countries across the Global South.

The government is in the process of selecting 30 AI applications developed by women entrepreneurs, 20 by young innovators, and 20 solutions addressing global challenges spanning agriculture, climate action, financial inclusion and manufacturing. Backed under the IndiaAI Mission’s application development initiative, an additional 30 applications focused on India-specific use cases covering healthcare, governance and assistive technologies.

Announced as part of three distinct global impact challenges, the initiative aims to identify scalable AI-driven technologies ranging from computer vision-based diagnostics and natural language processing (NLP) tools for clinical documentation to solutions targeting digital payment fraud, reducing unplanned industrial downtime and enabling AI-led elderly care.

Meanwhile, the summit is set to be chaired by the prime minister, will mark the fourth annual convening of global leaders focused on AI policymaking. Officials indicated that leaders from up to 25 countries may gather in New Delhi, with discussions centred on narrowing the global AI divide and addressing emerging AI risks.
