The Russia-based service provider Megafon has reported RUB 71.54 billion as the revenue for the fourth quarter ending December 2012.
Owing to a stronger focus on cost control and a new model for dealer commissions, lowering subscriber acquisition costs, the operator?s operating income before depreciation and amortisation stood at RUB 31.42 billion. And for the period under review, Megafon reported net profit of RUB 12.41 billion.
The operator?s revenue from mobile subscriptions increased to RUB 9.95 billion in the fourth quarter of 2012 whereas its revenue from fixed line business stood at RUB 31.4 billion. The operator?s mobile customer base increased by1.5 per cent over 2011 to reach 62.57 million. Its average revenue per user for the period under review stood at RUB 330 with the minutes of usage pegged at 309.
For 2013, the company expects high single-digit revenue growth. The operator expects its capex is to increase to RUB 55-60 billion, following a 38 per cent cut in 2012 to RUB 44.07 billion.
