The Sri Lankan government has reportedly stated that Ananda Krishnan, who currently owns a majority stake in Malaysia-based telecom service provider Maxis Communications, will need security clearance to purchase stake in Sri Lanka Telecom. Maxis Communications is targeting to purchase 25 per cent of Japanbased telecom service provider NTT’s 35 per cent stake in Sri Lanka Telecom.
