Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited posts a 5.26 per cent increase in net profit

Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited has posted a 5.26 per cent increase in net profit at Rs 3.23 billion for the quarter ended March 31, 2005. The figure stood at Rs 3.07 billion in the corresponding quarter last year. Total income has increased 4.59 per cent to Rs 16.57 billion for the fourth quarter against Rs 15.84 billion in the corresponding period of the previous year. The company has posted a 17.76 per cent dip in net profit at Rs 9.46 billion for the year ended March 31, 2005 as compared to Rs 11.5 billion last year. Total income has decreased to Rs 60.01 billion for the year ended March 31, 2005 from Rs 66.83 billion in 2003-04.
