Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL) has announced that it is unlikely to be able to implement MNP by the government-set deadline of December 31, 2009 owing to technical problems. It is now targeting to launch MNP by March 31, 2010.

MNP was scheduled to be introduced on December 31, 2009 in metro cities and Category A circles followed by a countrywide launch on March 20, 2010.
