
In the first quarter of 2013, LG has shipped 10.3 million smartphones. The company has also posted revenues of $2.96 billion for the quarter under consideration.
The company?s encouraging performance for the quarter under consideration was on account of the launch of long term evolution smartphones like Optimus G and Optimus G Pro along with 3G smartphones – the Optimus L Series and Nexus 4.
For the first quarter of 2013, LG?s operating profit stood at $122.69 million. For the period under consideration, the company reported overall revenue of $13.01 billion due to the improved performance of its mobile business. Further, LG registered net profit and operating profit of $20.30 million and $322.88 million, respectively for the first quarter of 2013.
Going forward, the company is planning the global launch of Optimus L Series II smartphones. To capture further market share in 3G and 4G market, LG will also introduce smartphones like Optimus G Pro and Optimus F Series.a
