LG Electronics has introduced the Optimus Vu smartphone, priced at Rs 34,500.

The Android-based device operates on the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich platform, packs in a five-inch screen and is powered by a 1.5 GHz Nvidia Tegra 3 Quad Core processor.

The Optimus Vu has dual cameras (an 8 megapixel rear camera and a 1.3 megapixel front facing camera) and houses 32 GB of in-built memory.

Commenting on the launch, Soon Kwon, president south west Asia region and managing director, LG India, says, “Today, the smartphone segment is one of the most lucrative, innovative and competitive markets in the world. For a product to stand out in the crowd, it has to have everything that the competition fails to offer. Optimus Vu truly synchronises the features of a tablet and smartphone into one flexible device. Its unique display offers the same perspective as a PC, and is perfect for multi-tasking. Optimus Vu caters to the lifestyle needs of today’s consumers, who demand smart devices which are both intelligent and efficient.”
