On the sidelines of the India Mobile Congress 2022, Ashwini Vaishnaw, Minister of Communications, Electronics and Information Technology and Railways, said that last mile connectivity is vital to achieve the vision of digital India.
Besides, Vaishnaw noted that special assistance to states for capital expenditure worth Rs 20 billion would be provided. The minister also encouraged states to be proactive and make business-friendly policies to attract businesses.
Separately, Alkesh Kumar Sharma, secretary, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), said that the government is committed to promote technology startups beyond tier-1 cities, and emphasised on collaboration, start-up friendly policies and incentives at state level for creating a thriving start-up ecosystem.
