Keysight Technologies has launched a package of solutions comprising the E7760A wideband transceiver and the M1650A solution for testing 802.11ad devices. The E7760A and M1650A package is a compact solution that addresses the standard requirements of 802.11ad devices and delivers the required performance metrics. The E7760A wideband transceiver is an integrated test solution that supports the IEEE 802.11ad wireless standard for over-the-air testing of 60 GHz signals with a bandwidth of 2 GHz. Moreover, the solution has chipset control and is ideally suited for design validation and the manufacturing of 60 GHz chipsets, modules and devices.
The E7760A test solution includes embedded software that runs all the required 802.11ad tests, allowing users to quickly create and analyse signals on a single screen. It also has a vector signal generator and vector signal analyser to validate device RF performance. Further, the solution has connectivity to remote M1650A mmWave transceivers with an RF cable for over-the-air testing. The solution also has a fully calibrated test capability near the device and does not need external calibration equipment. It also boasts of the ability to connect up to six M1650A’s to one E7760A to validate beamforming capability or maximise throughput by testing multiple devices in a single set up.
Keysight has partnered with leading 802.11ad chipset designers to create these chipset control solutions. These test automation tools shorten the design validation period and increase early manufacturing throughput. According to the company, it has launched this solution to help the industry deploy 60 GHz technology.
