Tata Electronics has appointed KC Ang as the president and head of its foundry business, Tata Semiconductor Manufacturing. He will report to Randhir Thakur, chief executive officer (CEO) and managing director (MD) of Tata Electronics, and will lead the company’s foundry operations.

Ang previously served as president, Asia and chairman, China at GlobalFoundries where he worked for over 15 years. With more than three decades of experience in the foundry industry, he specialises in fab start-up, management, operations, technology transfer, and stakeholder relationship management.

Originally from Malaysia, Ang holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from National Taiwan University and a Master’s degree in Engineering from the University of Texas. Throughout his career, he has worked extensively in Malaysia, Germany, the United States, and China.
