The Government of Karnataka and the German state of Bavaria have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to collaborate across several strategic sectors, including artificial intelligence (AI), quantum technology, biotechnology, and smart cities, among others.

The MoU was formally signed by M. B. Patil, Minister for Large and Medium Industries, government of Karnataka and Dr Florian Herrmann, head, Bavarian State Chancellery.

The agreement will be valid for five years. Under this partnership, both regions will work together in areas such as Industry 4.0, space technology, medical technology, green technology, urban infrastructure, skill development, employment generation, entrepreneurship, and cybersecurity.

Furthermore, during the meeting, Dr Herrmann was provided a detailed overview of Karnataka’s thriving industrial ecosystem and the wide range of investment opportunities available in the state. The discussions also touched on forming dedicated working groups to focus on specific collaboration areas, such as skill development.
