Indian handset manufacturer, Karbonn has earmarked an investment of Rs 8 billion over the next three years for manufacturing mobile phones in the country.

The company has allocated Rs 4.50 billion for setting up a plant in Telangana while another Rs 1 billion will be invested for setting up its Noida assembly unit. Production at both these plants will start within the next two quarters.

The company expects local production to meet 60 to 70 percent of its domestic market requirement.
