Jitender Durairajan, Head-Cloud Practice, L&T-Cloudfiniti

With over 24 years of experience in cloud transformation, Jitender Durairajan serves as the cloud practice head at L&T-Cloudfiniti, the company’s data center & cloud business, where he is responsible for shaping and executing the cloud and AI strategy across a wide range of enterprise-focused offerings. His focus is on aligning cutti­ng-edge technology with customer-centric outcomes, helping businesses transition seamlessly to hybrid and multicloud environments.

At L&T-Cloudfiniti, he leads the development of future-ready, scalable cloud platforms – both multi-tenant and private – as well as AI-driven managed servi­ces. The challenge lies in balan­c­ing rapid technological adva­ncements, particularly around AI, with secure, cost-effective solutions. He also spearheads key initiatives in cloud security, compliance & sovereign cloud infrastructure, working closely with OEMs and partners to build differentiated solutions. “Being part of initiatives that involve designing sovereign cl­ouds, enabling AI-driven enterp­rises and scaling multitenant cloud platforms is truly rewarding,” he notes.

Prior to joining L&T-Cloudfiniti, Durairajan held leadership positions at Tata Communica­tions and Sify Technologies, wh­ere he was instrumental in building cloud businesses from the ground up. His work spanned private and public clo­ud platforms, AI-led services and large enterprise engagem­e­nts, allowing him to develop a strong understanding of both technology and business transformation.

Known for his collaborative and empowering leadership style, he believes in setting a clear vision, encouraging ownership and enabling high-performing teams through autonomy and mentorship. He foste­rs a culture of innovation, continuous learning and customer-centr­ic­i­ty – qualities that are essential in today’s fast evolving cloud ecosystem.

He believes that the telecom and tech sectors are on the brink of a major transformation driven by edge computing, AI-led automation, private 5G and sustainable cloud models. He states, “Security, FinOps and sustainability will become strategic priorities. Additionally, the rise of AI-native applications will drive demand for GPU-accelerated cloud services, and industry-specific clouds will see significant traction, especially in the healthcare, manufacturing and government sectors.”

He holds a master’s degree in Computer Applications and has several professional certifications in cloud computing, project management and business leadership. Outside of work, he enjoys listening to music, reading about emerging technologies, mentoring young professionals and staying updated on market trends. He values time with his wife and their son.
