According to a report by Opensignal, in October 2023, Reliance Jio topped in terms of 5G mobile download speed, with 306.3Mbps. Meanwhile, Bharti Airtel maintained its lead in 5G upload speed, with 25.1Mbps. However, Jio consumers also had the fastest overall mobile speed, clocking in at 52.9 Mbps.

As per the report, Jio’s download speed experience score is nearly double that of Airtel’s, while the Jio’s 5G download speed score is 12.3 per cent faster. On the other hand, Airtel’s 5G upload speed is 2Mbps faster than the speed previously reported by Opensignal and 6.4 Mbps, that is 34.2 per cent faster than Jio.

Further, Airtel users enjoy the best quality of experience while streaming on demand and live videos over mobile networks, including 5G. Likewise, Airtel is also top for the quality of experience while playing multiplayer mobile games and using over-the-top (OTT) voice services in mobile voice apps, even with 5G. Meanwhile, Jio maintains its stronghold on download speeds.

The report also reveals that Airtel is the leader in gaming, video streaming, and voice app experience in most circles, while Jio leads in download speeds, availability and 5G availability and coverage metrics.
