Reliance Jio will reportedly launch its fixed wireless access (FWA) device offering, Jio AirFiber, in the festive quarter at a discount of up to 20 per cent from the current options in the market. This will be the company’s first effort to monetise 5G after the data top pack introduced previously this year.

Jio’s FWA device will use carrier aggregation technology to combine different 5G airwaves, such as 700 MHz, 3300 MHz, and 26 GHz, to create a data pathway that can deliver high-speed internet to homes and businesses. The FWA offering is expected to generate significant revenue for Jio and help the company increase the number of connected premises to 100 million.
