Speaking at the Uttar Pradesh Global Investors’ Summit, Mukesh Ambani, chairman, Reliance Industries Limited, informed that Jio will complete the roll-out of its 5G services in the state of Uttar Pradesh within 10 months. The operator plans to complete its rollout of 5G network to cover every town and village of Uttar Pradesh by December 2023.

In addition, Ambani noted that Jio Platforms Limited will help modernise all areas of business and industry, from agriculture to the social sector and governance. The chairman further disclosed that the operator plans to pilot two new initiatives, Jio School and Jio AI (artificial intelligence) doctor to bring top-class education and healthcare most affordably to villages and small towns of Uttar Pradesh.

Till date, Reliance Industries Limited has invested around Rs 500 billion in Uttar Pradesh. Going forward, the company intends to invest an additional Rs 750 billion over the next four years in Uttar Pradesh across Jio, retail and renewable businesses. The additional investment is expected to create an additional over 100,000 jobs in the state.
