Orbit Connect India, a joint venture (JV) between Jio Platforms and SES, has received approval from the Indian National Space Promotion and Authorisation Centre (IN-SPACe) to operate satellites for high-speed internet in India.
The JV was granted three approvals by IN-SPACe in April and June 2024, allowing Orbit Connect to position satellites above India.
However, further approvals from the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) are still required to begin the services.
