Reliance Industries Limited’s (RIL) Jio Platforms has collaborated with Qualcomm technologies for local manufacturing of 5G critical equipment in India.
In addition, RIL also said that Jio Platforms is working with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) on standardising 5G device configurations.
Earlier, both the companies had partnered to develop open and interoperable interface compliant architecture based 5G solutions with a virtualised radio access network (RAN). To this end, they had achieved over a 1 Gbps milestone on the Jio 5GNR solution in 2020 using the chipmaker’s 5G RAN Platforms.
Meanwhile, RIL has said that Jio’s strategic initiatives which are to be rolled out in partnership with Facebook and Google will further improve its consumer service offerings.
