Reliance Jio Infocomm has paid the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) Rs 107.92 billion, clearing all outstanding dues of the 2016 spectrum auctions.

However, the telco has not yet cleared all dues of spectrum bought in 2014 and 2015 auctions. Jio acquired spectrum in 2014 for Rs 110.54 billion, of which Rs 36.48 billion was paid upfront, and it acquired airwaves in 2015 for Rs 100.77 billion, of which Rs 26.95 billion was paid upfront.

Jio can still opt for a moratorium on its dues against the spectrum acquired in 2014 and 2015, which it needs to notify to the DoT by October 29, 2021.

Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea (Vi) have already chosen a four-year spectrum moratorium.
