Reliance Jio’s True 5G network was launched in the Sikkim’s capital Gangtok by Prem Singh Tamang, Chief Minister of Sikkim. With this, Jio’s 5G network is now present in every state of India.
The company showcased immersive benefits of 5G in fields such as healthcare, via Jio Community Clinic Medical kit, along with the augmented reality(AR)-virtual reality (VR) device, Jio Glass. The state government expects the network services to improve in every village, GPU and school in Sikkim.
By December 2023, every district head quarter, town and tehsil in Sikkim is expected to have Jio’s True 5G services. The government is also aiming at integrating the technology in the newly formed districts of Soreng and Pakyong.
