As per India Ratings and Research (Ind-Ra), Reliance Jio has become country’s largest telecom player in terms of subscribers at the cost of loss in Vodafone Idea’s customer base.

The subscriber base of Reliance Jio stood at 369 million in November 2019. Whereas, Vodafone Idea and Bharti Airtel reported a total mobile subscriber base of 336.2 million and 32.73 million during the period.

As per the report, the revenue market share of Jio grew to 34.9 per cent in the second quarter of the current fiscal. Further, the average revenue per user (ARPU) reported by telcos has started showing signs of recovery in the last two to three quarters. Moreover, as per Ind-Ra, the recent tariff hikes by telcos in the range of 25 to 35 per cent is likely to support the increase in ARPU over the next few quarters.
