Japanese mobile company SoftBank and Korean telecom investment company SK Telecom Ventures have invested $17 million in San Francisco-based applications developer RockYou. Meanwhile, SoftBank and RockYou will set up a joint venture (JV) company that will develop widget and application products and services for use on PCs and mobile devices in the Asian market, particularly in Japan, Korea, Russia and China. Each of the JV partners will contribute technology, know-how systems and human resources.
