According to Ashwini Vaishnaw, Union Minister of Communications, Electronics and Information Technology and Railways, Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh will get world-class seamless connectivity of 4G and 5G. He said that the government aims to connect each and every village of Jammu and Kashmir through optical fibre. He added that the government has sanctioned nearly 500 new towers in Ladakh and the work is going at a high pace.

Further, Vaishnaw added that Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited’s (BSNL) 4G and 5G technology stack has been developed within the country and India is among the five countries across the globe that have managed to develop end-to-end telecom technology. He informed that the government would test the technology at 200 sites for four months. After September 2023, 300 BSNL towers will be installed daily across the country and the telco would deliver the best 4G and 5G services.
