ITI Limited has reportedly delivered the first consignment of in-house fabricated communication racks for the Army Static Switched Communication Network (ASCON)-Phase IV project.

ASCON is the Indian army’s telecom network backbone, which is implemented in phases along the borders and consists of voice and data switches interconnected with media interfaces such as microwave radio, optical fibre equipment, and satellites.

Earlier in 2017, ITI Limited emerged as the lowest bidder for the telecom network project. The contract involves the supply, installation, commissioning and maintenance of telecom equipment like IP/MPLS routers, microwave radio, satellite terminals, NMS, mobile nodes and test equipment.
