According to Thaicom, its subsidiary IPSTAR India has been granted approval by the Indian National Space Promotion and Authorisation Centre (IN-SPACe) to provide broadband satellite services in India.

Further, the authorisation includes Thaicom’s upcoming new satellite, Thaicom 9, which is being supplied by Astranis and will be launched sometime next year to replace Thaicom 4.

As per the company, the satellite services in India will focus on delivering broadband satellite solutions to enhance the country’s digital infrastructure, targeting not only rural markets but also underserved areas with connectivity challenges.
