What are the business opportunities that Maveric Systems sees in the telecom space for IT Lifecycle Assurance solutions?

Telecom is a technology?led business which is characterised by frequent changes in business models, technology stacks, regulations and ownership. In order to keep up with these changes, telecom service providers can bank upon three key services – application, requirements and program assurance.  At present, requirements and program assurance are underserved segments.

B/OSS E2E assurance, enterprise mobility testing and OTT (Over-The-Top) content delivery systems offer huge growth potential for IT Lifecycle Assurance solutions.

What are the IT Lifecycle Assurance solutions which can help operators maximise their operations?

The issues faced by operators are distinctly different during the rollout phase and during the business-as-usual (BAU) phase. During rollouts, operators and systems integrators tend to focus on application assurance, often the source of a lot of defects are owing to inadequate requirements specification, design translation or even in more mundane activities related to configuration or release management.  The industry experience indicates that assurance and program assurance offerings generate a lot of interest from customers in the middle of a transformation initiative.  Unfortunately, too often this realisation comes a bit too late in the lifecycle of the network!

During the BAU phase, test automation, optimisation, test process definition and performance testing could play an important role in enabling customers firm up a faster go to market strategy, thereby improving operational efficacy.

What are the challenges facing the company?

Scaling-up our operations is a major issue. The other associated challenges include creating the required support system to capitalise on the growing demand for IT Lifecycle Assurance solutions.

Also, getting qualified people on board for pushing the growing business is another key challenge.

What are the technology trends that you foresee in the IT Lifecycle Assurance space particularly for the telecom industry?

In the short-term, the IT Lifecycle Assurance solution market would not be dominated so much by technology changes in the core-network. Instead the market will be impacted by the way in which the deployed network is being utilised by operators, customers and enterprises.

Maveric is working towards meeting these challenges by coming up with innovative mobility solutions. Over the next few months, the company will focus on creating a strong market for its IP-based assurance accelerators like AssureHawk.

Going forward, network-agnostic content delivery and service delivery will drive revenues for the industry.  In the long-term, customer experience management will be the key factor driving both technology and IT lifecycle assurance solutions.
