The government has informed the parliament that the internet connectivity in rural India is increasing at a fast pace. In fact, this increase in rural connectivity is expected to surpass urban connectivity in the near future.
The government further noted that as per the report of Internet and Mobile Association, the rural internet user base is witnessing a three times faster surge in the connectivity.
In addition, as per the Union Budget 2022, the contracts for laying optical fibre connections in rural and remote areas will be awarded in 2022 and is excepted to be completed by 2025.
