
Intel has partnered with the Department of Science and Technology to launch the ?Innovate for Digital India Challenge? for helping fund start-ups and small companies working in the field of technology. The company has set aside Rs 24 million to fund about 20 ventures under the initiative. Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad and Centre for Innovation Incubation and Entrepreneurship will help the company in selecting ventures that are commercially viable in areas such as financial inclusion, agriculture, healthcare, etc.
Under the progamme, the winning teams will be part of a six month incubation programme which will include a three-month accelerator program in Bengaluru and Pune, going for market preparation to showcase functional prototypes, access to design houses, fab-labs, and 3D printing. Further, the company will provide technical mentorship to the selected teams, access to Intel-based product kits and software development kits, access to grants, seed fund and equity investments.
