Ingram Micro India, one of the leading technology distribution companies in India is in talks with handset vendors and operators to offer customised insurance plans to their smartphone and tablet customers.
The company has a wide range of offerings under its product portfolio – Cover Plus insurance plans which offer customers a number of value added services such as protection against theft, physical damage to the product, anti-virus protection and multimedia downloads from leading content providers.
The company has introduced two new products under the Cover Plus insurance plans. The new product offerings allow smartphone and tablet users to avail of an extended warranty on their premium devices over and above the one offered by the manufacturer. The buyers can choose from two product categories – Gold and Platinum. The Gold pack is priced between Rs 499 to Rs 4,599 for differently-priced devices, while the Cover Plus Platinum pack starts from Rs 1,499 and goes up to Rs 3,999.
