Indus Towers has put its green initiatives on the fast track.
The company is looking at making 20,000 of its sites diesel-free by April 2013, say news reports.
It has earmarked Rs 1.65 billion for the same. To achieve this, Indus plans to enhance electricity supply at the site, augment its battery bank, deploy free cooling units and increase usage of solar power interventions.
In so far, the company has already made over 8,900 towers in its portfolio diesel-free.
