Indus Towers Limited has appointed Sunil Sood as an additional director on its board in the capacity of non-executive and non-independent director from June 30, 2022.

In a filing with the Bombay Stock Exchange, the company informed that Sood will hold office as an additional director till the date of the upcoming general meeting and, being eligible, has been recommended to the shareholders for appointment as a director liable to retire by rotation in the ensuing general meeting.

Sood is a director on the board of Vodafone Idea Limited (Vi) and Vodacom Group South Africa. He was the group commercial director at Vodafone Group AMAP and Group M-Pesa financial services director of Vodafone Group Services from September 2018 to September 2020. He managed the commercial operations and strategy as well as the innovation and transformation projects for Africa, Middle East, and Asia Pacific regions. Prior to that, he was also a director of the erstwhile Indus Towers Limited and Safaricom Kenya.

He started his telecom journey with Vodafone in 2000 and has held several senior positions over the years, including managing director and CEO of Vodafone India from April 2015 to August 2018.

Meanwhile, Indus Towers Limited has also announced that Balesh Sharma, the first CEO of Vi, had resigned from the position of non-executive director with immediate effect.
