Bimal Dayal has formally taken over as chief executive officer (CEO) of Indus Towers, succeeding B.S. Shantharaju. He had been serving as chief operating officer of Indus Towers since 2010 and was appointed CEO-designate in October 2015. In the past, Dayal has been associated with Ericsson, Qualcomm and Tata Telecom. As managing director (MD), Ericsson, in Sri Lanka, he steered the company to become the country’s top player in the telecom infrastructure segment.
Indus Towers has also appointed Hemant Kumar Ruia as its new chief financial officer (CFO). Prior to joining Indus Towers, Ruia served as CFO of Reliance Retail and as business partner across various brands of the company, including Reliance Fresh and Reliance Markets. Ruia has extensive experience in business partnering, funds management, information systems, legal and secretarial matters, and other aspects of financial management. He started his career with Larsen & Toubro and subsequently worked with ICI India and Reckitt Benckiser India, before moving ton o Agro Tech Food where he was the CFO for over seven years.
