Indus Towers has appointed Vikas Poddar as chief financial officer (CFO) of the company with effect from January 12, 2021. Poddar has taken over from Vinod Rao, who was serving as the acting CFO of Indus Towers since April 2020 after the preceding finance chief Hemant Ruia left the company.

Prior to this, he was serving as the global head of finance at Vodafone Intelligent Solutions (VOIS), London. He had joined Vodafone India Limited in 2008 and since then he has undertaken several finance leadership roles such as assistant vice president and senior vice president of FP&A and commercial finance. Thereafter, he joined Vodafone Group Services, AMAP Region, London as regional finance controller wherein he supported in strategic business decisions such as mergers & acquisitions activity, valuations, geographic expansions, capital expenditure reviews, spectrum auctions, strategic plan reviews, pricing reviews, etc.

Poddar has also been associated with ITC Limited and Thai Filament Co. Limited as finance manager.

In terms of qualifications, he pursued his MBA with a major in financial management from NUS Business School, National University of Singapore and is a chartered accountant.
