
Indonesia’s PT Indosat is planning to roll out a submarine cable sysItem, Sistem Komunikasi Kabel Laut (SKKL), to connect Jakarta, Pontianak, Batam and Singapore. The 1,300 km marine cable system will provide Indosat with additional bandwidth capacity which will be used for both IP-based services as well as non-IP.
SKKL, to be installed in cooperation with NEC, will have four landing points on the islands of Tanjung Pakis (Karawang, west Java), Sungai Kakap (Pontianak, west Kalimantan), Tanjung Bemban (Batam) and Changi (Singapore).
