Indonesia-based telecom operator PT Telkom has awarded a $200 million contract to Russia’s ISS-Reshetnev for the supply of a new telecommunications satellite.

Indonesia-based telecom operator PT Telkom has awarded a $200 million contract to Russia’s ISS-Reshetnev for the supply of a new telecommunications satellite. Under the deal, ISS-Reshetnev will build the operator’s Telkom 3 satellite, provide satellite control equipment and conduct training. The orbiter, which will have 42 transponders, is expected to be ready for launch in August 2011.
