Indichip Semiconductors Limited, along with its joint venture partner Yitoa Micro Technology (YMTL) from Japan, has signed an agreement with the government of Andhra Pradesh to set up India’s first private semiconductor manufacturing facility, involving an investment of Rs 140 billion.
This facility will concentrate on producing Silicon Carbide (SiC) chips, aiding India’s technological progress and sustainability objectives.
The state has committed to providing land at the Orvakal mega industrial hub in Kurnool, along with the essential infrastructure and ecosystem to ensure the project’s success.
