According to a report by Centrum Institutional Research, India’s telecom industry could witness another 12-15 per cent tariff hike over the next three to four months as the pricing environment has become more favourable following market consolidation.

The report expects the country’s three private telecom operators to report a 1-1.5 per cent quarter-on-quarter increase in average revenue per user (ARPU) during the June quarter, driven by the migration of subscribers from 2G to 4G and 5G networks, growth in postpaid users and the higher number of days in the quarter.

Centrum also expects Bharti Airtel and Reliance Jio to continue gaining subscriber market share at the expense of Vodafone Idea Limited.

According to the report, data consumption per subscriber is likely to remain strong as 4G and 5G adoption continues to expand across the country, supporting further growth in telecom revenues.
