According to Ashwini Vaishnaw, Union Minister of Communications, Electronics and Information Technology and Railways, India’s telecom industry is not heading towards a monopoly or a duopoly as Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) is emerging as a stable telecom operator.

As per the minister, BSNL has started making operating profits. The technology that the state-run telco is going to use, which is India’s 4G and 5G stack, is a step above other relevant technologies.

Vaishnaw asserted that India is the most affordable telecom market and will continue to be so.
