According to the latest data by government of India, India’s share of smartphone exports to the United States and the United Kingdom witnessed strong double-digit growth in 2024. The smartphone export share to the US rose to 13.73 per cent in 2024 from 7.88 per cent in 2023, while exports to the UK increased to 14.31 per cent from 9.27 per cent during the same period.

Mobile phone exports from India hit a record high of Rs 2 trillion in financial year 2025 (FY25), reflecting a 55 per cent increase from Rs 1.29 trillion in FY24. In a landmark development, smartphones have emerged as India’s single largest export commodity in FY25, marking a significant milestone for the ‘Make in India’ initiative.

Further, India’s mobile phone production is estimated to have climbed to Rs 5.25 trillion in FY25, up from Rs 4.22 trillion recorded in the previous fiscal.
