According to Rajeev Chandrasekhar, minister of state, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY); Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and Jal Shakti, India’s digital economy is growing at 2.8 per cent per annum and is expected to reach $1 trillion by 2027-28. He mentioned that the value of the India artificial intelligence (AI) mission will be doubled to Rs 200 billion from Rs 100 billion.
As per him, the government could not achieve the $1 trillion-mark by 2026-27 because of various reasons including Covid-19 pandemic. In addition, he highlighted that prime minister (PM) has approved Rs 1 trillion as seed fund, which will be invested in research and development for fuel innovation and India AI mission.
