According to the National Technical Research Organisation (NTRO), India’s critical sectors might fall victim to cyberattacks as these hackers can potentially leverage the relaxations introduced by various companies in geofencing restrictions to enable work from home for their employees.

Government undertakings, strategic and public enterprises, banking and financial services, telecom, power, energy and transport, among others, are all vulnerable to such attacks, the agency noted.

To this end, the government had advised government employees working in critical sectors to stay vigilant, follow key safeguarding practices and closely monitor privileged users and administrators of critical accounts.
