According to the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), India’s 5G stack has been fully developed and is ready to be exported to the rest of the world. In addition, Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel have surpassed all 5G rollout targets in six months that the government had given for the next three years.
As per V. L. Kantha Rao, additional secretary (telecom), DoT, with the development of the 5G and 4G stacks locally, India is not ready to become a major player in telecom equipment. He added that India has also developed an end-to-end 4G stack which has been tested for 10 million calls. The country now has a mature 4G stack that is getting deployed domestically and in other parts of the world.
