According to a report by Counterpoint Research, India’s 5G smartphone sales share has crossed the 50 per cent mark for the first time in the month of April 2023. Samsung and OnePlus covered a third of all the overall 5G smartphone sales, with the former covering the maximum share.
The 5G smartphone sales in India have been on the rise from November 2022 to April 2023, with 4G smartphone sales declining steadily.
Even with this milestone, there is a long way to go, especially in terms of network coverage, stated Tarun Pathak, research director, Counterpoint Research. The overall smartphone shipments stood at 43 per cent in the January-March quarter of 2023.
