According to a report by Opensignal, tier-2 and tier-3 cities in India have observed a significant improvement in mobile experience in comparison to 4G. The dominance of tier-2 cities was quite strong, with 80 per cent of the top 20 cities belonging to the tier-2 category. 

As per the report, Siliguri, Vasai-Virar, Guwahati, Nashik and Srinagar see a 27.1-38.2 per cent improvement in the quality of mobile video streaming with 5G compared to 4G. Across the circles, with 5G the average download speeds are between 12.2 and 26.2 times faster, video experience is 19.9-32.4 per cent better, and games experience is 14-44.4 per cent improved with 5G. 

Further, the Kolkata metro circle boasts the highest 5G availability in India, with users spending an impressive 43.6 per cent of the time with an active 5G connection, followed by Gujarat (30.6 per cent) and Mumbai metro circle (30.5 per cent). Furthermore, 5G users in Bihar, Punjab, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka enjoy more than 20 per cent 5G availability, surpassing the 25 per cent mark in Delhi.
