BSNL is upgrading its countrywide landline network. The operator is likely to select two vendors for replacing its 38,000-odd fixed-line exchanges with next generation network equipment.
Currently, the majority of BSNL’s fixed-line exchanges are running on C-DoT technology. It is upgrading these to support broadband and value added services for its wireline subscribers.
