India, through a joint effort by the ITU-APT Foundation of India (IAFI), Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), and central government officials, has proposed measures to tackle unauthorised non-geostationary satellite orbit (non-GSO) earth station operations within the fixed-satellite service (FSS) and mobile-satellite service (MSS) domains.
The proposal was recently presented by IAFI at the International Telecommunication Union’s (ITU) Working Party 4A and 4C meetings held in Shanghai, China.
Developed in coordination with the central government, India’s submission outlines clear methodologies to enhance enforcement of existing regulations while supporting the integrity and future growth of legitimate non-GSO satellite activities.
