A ministerial panel will decide whether the country will auction more telecom spectrum in 2011-12, Finance Secretary Sushma Nath said, according to news reports.
Last year, the country raised about $23.5 billion from auctions of 3G and wireless broadband radio airwaves.
The federal budget for 2011-12 estimates revenue of Rs 296.5 billion from communication services, that includes licence fee and spectrum usage charges paid by carriers and proceeds from broadband spectrum auctions.
