Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh has asserted that he was not aware of the methodology of the first-come, first-serve (FCFS) policy followed for 2G spectrum allocation by A. Raja, former Minister of Telecommunications and IT, according to news reports.
He said that details such as who got the licences and how FCFS was implemented was not discussed with him, nor was it brought to the Cabinet. He added that this was exclusively A. Raja?s decision.
He, however, said that since the Ministries of Finance and Telecommunications had agreed to continue with the existing policy of allocating 2G spectrum, he did not feel that he was in a position to insist that auction must be insisted.
